IMPRESSIONS....
First or last, I hate them all. Any attempt to make an impression is a deliberate push towards being fake....I hate pretence....
Some pretend to get a job, some pretend to gel well with the "group"... some others fake "to be liked by their friends or relatives or people in general". Impression management does not frustrate me anymore. It amuses me. The extent to which people can distort their true selves baffles me. Why? And for whom? I wonder endlessly on this. There are multiple means of creating and managing impressions...
Some speak only what people want to listen. Some depict others' thoughts as their own when these thoughts are appreciated. Some blatantly use others' ideas (in the presence / absence of the originator) as their own. Some boast about things that they think will make them 'cooler'. Some others do only what is "socially accepted".
Nature has been most creative with its creation. Imagine creating zillions and zillions of beings of billions and billions of species and no two of them are the same!!! And all in vain. We just nullify all the efforts of genious by trying to be what we are not. By trying to be somebody else. We actually take efforts to not be wonderful. We are what we are for a reason. And we are very very special the way we are made. Our learning, growth, thought processes and self development are humiliated when we try to hide all of that and try to be someone/something we are so not.
So many people tell me (and they believe it too) that this is the way of getting things done. Tell your boss what she / he likes to hear. Sit long hours when she / he is around (never mind if you are orkuting). Brag a promotion! (Yeah right!)
By being oneself in all circumsatnces, one can exude greatest confidence. Pretence and trying hard to impress proves lack of it.
Nevertheless, it is highly amusing to see so many actually doing it. To grab attention or acceptance. Thinking all the while that others regard them high. Never knowing how much they give themselves away in this futile exercise!!

It is indeed funny to see how people simply pretend to be something that they are not, i used to detest such people, but thats when a thought struck me,if people get their kicks being something that they are not,why bother, let them look at the world through their rose tinted shades! at the end of the day, those who have substance are the ones who you really want to be with. So let the "posers" pass along, all they can manage from me is a raised eyebrow and i quickly turn around and giggle at their behaviour
